Who we are

Syd (See Yourself Develop) is a student development system for ages 8–18, operated from Surat Thani, Thailand. This policy covers the website syd.ai and the open-access Daily Loop at syd.ai/dailyloops. It does not cover the enrolled-student mobile application, which is governed by a separate policy provided at intake.

What we collect on syd.ai

The main marketing site collects anonymous analytics about page visits (pages viewed, general device type, approximate country). We use a consent banner to ask before loading these analytics. If you decline, no analytics are loaded.

What we collect on /dailyloops

The open-access Daily Loop is an anonymous research instrument. We capture structural events — which step was reached, whether a response was submitted, whether the session completed — to measure whether students find the experience worth returning to. Specifically:

• No name, email, phone number, or other identifying information
• No cookies and no persistent browser storage
• No IP addresses (explicitly disabled)
• No audio recordings — voice responses are captured by the browser and discarded immediately; nothing is uploaded
• No transcripts of what was said or typed
• Only: age band selected (8–12 or 13–18), domain selected, which step was reached, and timestamps

Because this data is fully anonymous and non-identifying, we do not require a cookie consent banner on /dailyloops.

Legal basis (PDPA)

Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019):

• For anonymous analytics on /dailyloops: no personal data is processed, so no legal basis under PDPA §24 is required.
• For consented analytics on the main site: consent under PDPA §24(1).
• For any future enrolled-student data: explicit consent from the parent or legal guardian of the minor under PDPA §20.

Cross-border data transfer

Our website is hosted by Netlify (United States). Analytics are processed by PostHog (United States). This constitutes a cross-border transfer under PDPA. Both providers maintain industry-standard security practices. By using consented analytics on the main site, you acknowledge this transfer.

Your rights

Under PDPA you have the right to: access the data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, object to processing, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with Thailand's Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee. Because /dailyloops holds no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf for that surface.

Minors

Syd is built for minors. No enrollment or personal data collection occurs on this public website. The open-access Daily Loop at /dailyloops is structured to hold no personal data at all, so it is safe for minors to use without parental consent. When a family enrolls a student through a separate intake process, explicit parental consent is obtained and documented in accordance with PDPA §20.

Retention

Anonymous analytics events are retained for up to 12 months, after which they are aggregated or deleted. The main site's consent choice is stored locally in your browser until you clear it.

Changes to this policy

We will update the "Last updated" date at the top when this policy changes. Material changes to how data is handled will be announced on the site.
