AI makes Syd possible. It does not make Syd decide.
Daily Loops, feedback, and any message from Syd is drafted with AI assistance and then read, edited, and approved by a human Director before it reaches your child. No raw model output crosses that line.
Echo reflections are encrypted with a key unique to your child. No one — including us — decrypts or transcribes them without your child's explicit permission.
We do not point a language model at children and hope for the best. The app delivers content humans wrote and approved. This is a line we consider non-negotiable.
Directors use AI to draft content faster, summarize session transcripts, and surface patterns in the cohort. Every judgment — who needs a check-in, which loop goes out, what the Quarterly Letter says — stays with the person. A Director is accountable for every student-facing decision.
Three senior Thai professionals — chosen for expertise in child safeguarding, psychology, and data practice — review our AI use, privacy practices, and protection policies on a recurring basis. They are not Syd employees and are empowered to require changes.
If how we use AI changes materially, parents hear it from us before they hear it anywhere else. No quiet policy drift. No buried updates.

Syd (See Yourself Develop) is a student development system for ages 8–18, operated from Surat Thani, Thailand. This policy covers syd.ai and the open-access Daily Loop at syd.ai/dailyloops. It does not cover the enrolled-student mobile application, which is governed by a separate policy provided at intake.

The main marketing site collects anonymous analytics about page visits (pages viewed, general device type, approximate country). We use a consent banner to ask before loading these analytics. If you decline, no analytics are loaded.
The open-access Daily Loop is an anonymous research instrument. We capture only: age band selected (8–12 or 13–18), domain selected, which step was reached, and timestamps. No names, emails, IP addresses, audio recordings, or transcripts. No cookies or persistent browser storage.
Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562: anonymous analytics on /dailyloops require no legal basis (no personal data processed); consented analytics on the main site rely on consent under PDPA §24(1); enrolled-student data uses explicit parental consent under PDPA §20.
Our website is hosted by Netlify (United States). Analytics are processed by PostHog (United States). Both providers maintain industry-standard security practices.
Under PDPA you have the right to access, correct, delete, object to processing, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with Thailand's Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee.
Syd is built for minors. No enrollment or personal data collection occurs on this public website. The /dailyloops experience holds no personal data and is safe for minors without parental consent. Enrollment requires explicit parental consent under PDPA §20.
Anonymous analytics events are retained for up to 12 months, then aggregated or deleted.

The Development Director is the centre of Syd. You own the student experience end to end — Daily Loops, PODs, Mentors, Solo — and you are personally accountable for every student's growth arc. This is not a teaching role. It is a design, coaching, and leadership role for someone who has been frustrated by what existing systems can't do for students and is ready to run something that can.
We are looking for a Thai national under 30, currently in a coordinator or programme role at an international school, with two to three years of experience and a strong sense that the system is leaving students behind. Mai leads first-touch outreach. Myke interviews every finalist.
The Founding Development Director distinction is permanent. You will be named as a founder of Syd's student experience.

We hire Development Support as the student roster grows. There is a clear path to Development Associate for people who perform well and want it.
